Your screen is the heart of your gaming setup. It’s responsible for displaying the graphics generated by your PC, and its quality has a direct impact on your gaming experience.

There are many criteria to consider when choosing a screen, but the main ones are: 

  • Screen size: This is the diagonal length of the part of your screen that displays images, measured in inches. The larger it is, the bigger your screen will be.
  • Resolution: Simply the number of pixels the screen has. Today, the standard resolution is Full HD, which is 1920×1080 pixels. However, more and more screens now offer a resolution of 2560×1440 or even 4K, which is 3840×2160.
  • Framerate: This is the maximum number of frames the screen can display per second. The higher the framerate, the smoother the display will be. It’s sometimes referred to as FPS (Frames Per Second).
  • Response time: The response time of a screen is the time it takes for a pixel to change color, expressed in milliseconds (ms). The lower it is, the faster your screen transitions between images. For gaming, especially online gaming, it’s recommended to aim for as close to 1ms as possible for a smoother experience.
  • Connectivity: The types of cables the screen supports to connect to your computer. This could include DisplayPort, HDMI, VGA, USB-C, etc.

Due to their size, monitors over 32 inches can also be used in businesses as welcome screens or in conference and meeting rooms. Although quite bulky, they can be wall-mounted or placed in a spacious office. 

32 inches is approximately 81.3 cm, which means that with a 16:9 aspect ratio, you get a screen width of 70.8 cm and a height of 39.8 cm, equating to 2822.9 cm² of surface area.
