It's no secret that there are a lot of players waiting for the upcoming release of World of Warcraft: Shadowlands. Also, most of the features that the expansion will add to the game have been revealed already and they are currently being tested in the beta by those that have access. There was an important piece of information that was missing yet, and it was the system requirements needed to play on PC. Most people expected that those would not be very demanding, but quite surprisingly, Blizzard seems to be asking for something that is not really that usual. You can check the minimum and recommended requirements to play World of Warcraft: Shadowlands on PC below.
Minimum:
OS: Windows 7 64-bit
CPU: Intel Core i5-3450 or AMD FX 8300
GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 760, AMD Radeon RX 560, or Intel UHD 630 (45W) (DirectX 11 compatible GPU with 2GB VRAM)
RAM: 4GB (8GB if using integrated graphics)
Storage: SSD, 100GB available space
Input: Keyboard and mouse required, other input devices are not supported
Recommended:
OS: Windows 10 64-bit
CPU: Intel Core i7-6700K or AMD Ryzen 7 2700X
GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 or AMD Radeon RX Vega 65 (DirectX 12 compatible GPU with 8GB VRAM)
RAM: 8GB
Storage: SSD, 100GB available space
Input: Multi-button mouse with scroll wheel
The information has been taken directly from World of Warcraft: Shadowlands website and although the requirements don't seem to be quite demanding, there are a couple of noteworthy things. The first one is that Blizzard is asking for an SSD to install the game. That is completely unusual and, until now, it was player's who decided what type of storage unit they would use to install any game. Although SSDs are quite common nowadays and they are used quite often to install games due to their superior speed, there are plenty of people that do not have an SSD in their computers. It may just be a suggestion from their part, but it makes no sense to have it as a requirement then. The second thing that came to our attention is that the requirement list specifies that World of Warcraft: Shadowlands will not support other input devices than keyboard and mouse. So it anyone was expecting to play the game with a controller and a keyboard or something like that, you can forget about that already.
