Wartales: The Beast Hunt is an upcoming DLC for the medieval open-world tactical RPG Wartales, developed by Shiro Games. Scheduled for release on April 29, 2025, this expansion introduces a new region, gameplay mechanics, and a compelling storyline centered around a legendary creature known as "The Beast."
First, a new region called Brigga will be the main base for The Beast Hunt DLC. Players will venture into the mist-laden valleys of Brigga, a land twisted by the Beast's curse, where animals have transformed into ruthless ghost packs. A new profession, Huntsman, enables players to track the Beast by uncovering clues and hidden paths, mastering the art of tracking to confront ferocious predators.
Introducing Corruption mechanic: The Beast's influence can corrupt your animal companions, causing them to flee or turn hostile, adding a layer of strategy to managing your warband and ghost pack enemies as players face off against spectral hunters that grow stronger each night, presenting escalating challenges as you delve deeper into Brigga. Lastly, legendary crafting, after defeating the Beast, players will be able to craft powerful weapons from its remains, offering rewards that match the perilous journey.
Alongside the DLC, a free update to the Wartales base game adds Fierce Animal units, who come with unique passive abilities and combat advantages. The Huntsman profession will also be available to all players, along with a suite of quality-of-life upgrades. “The Beast Hunt is built around a legend that longtime players may recognize,” said Quentin Lapeyre, Game Director at Shiro Games. “We’ve grown it into a dangerous, atmospheric storyline set in a region designed to push your warband to its limits.”
