The developer Iron Gate Studio has met a huge success with its Viking multiplayer survival game, Valheim. Despite the game being in Early Access, it has caught the attention of a huge player base. Its brutal gameplay and detailed survival mechanics have made it one of the best choices for the fans of the genre, and it continues to grow with constant updates and new features. Valheim started its journey on Early Access with spectacular growth, selling over three million copies in barely two weeks. Not only has it maintained its player base, but it has also expanded it quite a bit, surpassing the ten million copies sold according to the latest press release from the developer.
#Valheim has sold over 10 million copies! Thank you to every single one of you who got us to this milestone – when we launched the game we could never in our wildest dreams have imagined this! pic.twitter.com/ZCmcsaubPB

Valheim has quite a stable player base, with an all-time player peak of over 500,000 players on Steam, and it accumulates a massive number of positive reviews on Valve's platform. The success of the game is far beyond the developer's expectations, according to Richard Svensson, CEO of Iron Gate Studio.
"We never imagined Valheim would become so big, not even in our wildest dreams, and the past year flew by faster than we anticipated."
"Our team has doubled since launch and knowing Valheim is enjoyed by millions of players around the world honours and humbles us at the same time."
It seems that Valheim will remain in Early Access for a while, though, as Iron Gate Studio plans on making it even bigger with a new biome in a future update, Mistlands, which will also include new enemies, new weapons to craft, and more.
