New Two Point Museum trailer shows what it's like to run a museum

Two Point Studios, the British developer behind management games, has released a new trailer for the upcoming Two Point Museum. This video provides an overview of museum management's complexities and quirks to ensure that aspiring curators are well-prepared to run their own museum empire when the Game launches in March.

According to the studio, running a museum is an epic balancing act. Money comes from ticket sales, donations, and the perfectly reasonable prices at the gift shop. But caution is required. After all, organizing expeditions, marketing, workshops, decorations, training, and all those other pesky expenses can put you in the red. Luckily, loans and sponsorships are always available as alternatives, though they come with their own risks.

A key part of any curator's management duties is overseeing their staff. They are the backbone of any museum and are occasionally the biggest headache. Specialists analyze and preserve exhibitions, janitors handle messes and build workshops, assistants manage ticket booths, gift shops, and expeditions while security protects exhibits, donations, the peace, and so on.

Two Point Museum comes from the same creators of Two Point Hospital and Two Point Campus. The game promises to take players on a unique journey into the world of museum management, blending educational elements with the signature humor of the Two Point franchise. Players will be challenged to create exhibitions, find rare artifacts, and ensure their museums are both fun and educational for visitors. In an interview with Aventuras na História website, design director Ben Huskins said that Two Point Museum's main goal is to spark players' passion for museums.

"We have a long list of themes, locations, and ideas, but for this game, we ended up choosing the museum theme. We think museums are cool and diverse, and that allowed us to be really creative in designing exhibitions, items, and other decorations that players can use in their museums," Ben said.

Even though the game takes place in the fictional world of Two Point County, it values visitor education: "Education is a very important part of the game and essential to the visitor experience. If you want to get the best ratings from them, you'll need to educate them with information stands next to each exhibit and also organize guided tours," the director pointed out.
