The Division 2 will receive more contents this year

When we thought that Ubisoft couldn't surprise us more, the French company unexpectedly announces that Tom Clancy's The Division 2 will receive more content in 2021. Most of us expected that they would be focused on the development of their upcoming new franchises, one game based on Star Wars and another one based on Avatar. Creating those games should be quite a titanic task if you consider how popular are those and the huge expectations that players all over the world will have regarding their launch and gameplay.  In the case of the Star Wars game, this can be considered as a great opportunity to claim some ground from what has been EA's undisputed territory in the last few years, since they had the exclusive rights for all-things Star Wars.

It's no surprise then, that the announcement made by Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot has shocked many of us. He confirmed that their Massive studio is working on the new Star Wars game but also on The Division.

The Massive studio is a large studio, and they are also collaborating with lots of studios all over the world. You're going to see more on The Division in this year and the year after.

The announcement has been followed by a Tweet on The Division 2's official account that talks about additional content coming to the game this year.

Some of you had noticed that Title Update 12 was originally meant to be the last major Title Update for The Division 2, but thanks to your continued support, we are now in the early stages of development for fresh content to release later in 2021. While it is still too early to go into more details today, you won't have to wait too long, as we will share more as soon as we can.

Even though it's good news for the fans of Tom Clancy's The Division 2, we can't really stop wondering if Ubisoft studios will be able to handle both tasks efficiently to dedicate enough time to the new games. While not forgetting about The Division 2 players is commendable, the game is going to be two years old next month and they probably should be focusing on new things already.
