The Mortal Kombat series has plenty of characters that have appeared on one or several games since the first Mortal Kombat was launched in 1992. So many that its lore has inspired films, comic books, and television series, becoming one of the most popular fighting video games franchises in the history of video games. Because of that, many of you will find surprising that the new playable character in Mortal Kombat 11 is no other than the Terminator, which has absolutely nothing to do with the Mortal Kombat universe. The official Terminator gameplay trailer has been published by developer NetherRealm Studios and it looks really impressive, so you might not be so worried about if it fits Mortal Kombat lore or not when you play it.
Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Terminator, the T-800, is joining the list of characters available in Mortal Kombat 11. As you can see in the video, the representation of the fan-favorite killer robot in Terminator: Dark Fate is quite accurate. The Terminator is able to wield a sawed-off shotgun and when he has been severely damaged the endoskeleton inside his body seems to be able to continue fighting, making him as much of a recurring nightmare as he was in James Cameron's film from 1984.
The Terminator will be available in Mortal Kombat 11 on October 8 for those that own the Mortal Kombat 11 Kombat Pack. The pack also gives you access to Shang Tsung, Nightwolf and three other characters that will be unlocked in the following months, namely Sindel, Spawn, and the Joker. If you don't want all the extra fighters and skins included in the pack you can still purchase the Terminator separately, but you will have to wait for a week longer.
