Take a first look at Borderlands 4

The Game Awards 2024 took place yesterday and this year's event has resulted as exciting for the announcements that took place as for the awards themselves. Astro Bot was chosen as the Game of the Year 2024 but there also were a good number of surprise announcements. Despite it wasn't really a surprise because we knew that it would happen beforehand, the reveal of Borderlands 4 was among the most cherished during the event. Gearbox Software prepared an exciting video showcasing elements from the upcoming game, including new enemies, scenarios, and the four new Vault Haunters that will be the protagonists of the latest installment in the popular looter-shooter series.

Borderlands is back

The video starts with two armies fighting against each other. On one side, we can see the iconic Psychos, albeit in a new form that looks more biomechanical. On the other, an army of cybernetic beings under the command of an imposing figure. That is just the start of a video that also showcases brand-new scenarios, four new heroes, and quite a few weapons. Of course, some iconic characters from the series will be back in the new Borderlands game, like the ever-present Claptrap, and you can rest assured that there will be a gazillion guns for you to discover in the game.

Borderlands 4 will be released in 2025 although there is no confirmed release date for the game yet. Gearbox will surely reveal more details about the game in the coming months, and we will learn more about the four protagonists, their powers, and the story.
