SteamWorld Heist II announced at Nintendo Indie World

SteamWorld Heist II announced at Nintendo Indie World

Nintendo held an Indie World event, showcasing numerous new releases from independent developers. Among them, we had the sequel Cat Quest III, an Apple Arcade exclusive title Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Splintered Fate coming to Switch, and the game in question, SteamWorld Heist II. Unfortunately, no Hollow Knight: Silksong yet again.

Published by Thunderful Games and developed by Image & Form Games, SteamWorld Heist II takes place in the world of Steamworld, which houses games like the first SteamWorld Heist and SteamWorld Build. The second mainline game in the series will be available for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, Switch, and PC via Steam. The title will be released on August 8th.

In SteamWorld Heist II, the waves announce an imminent crisis and the emergence of an aquatic crisis. Mysteriously, water has become a threat, corroding metal limbs and mechanical hearts. Players control Captain Leeway and his eccentric crew of steam-powered robots to uncover the enigmatic danger threatening the Great Sea.

As the captain, you hold the destiny of your crew in your hands. Arm them with a variety of weapons, tailor their skills and equipment, and utilize the diverse class system to overcome the obstacles in your path. From fresh recruits to seasoned veterans, your crew relies on your leadership to navigate the dangers of the Great Sea.

In the heat of battle, precision is paramount. The tactical shooter system allows each shot to bounce off surfaces, potentially hitting multiple enemies or triggering environmental effects. This strategic approach can be the key to victory, whether it's aiming at an explosive barrel near enemies or taking a direct shot at an opponent.

As the high seas are the central theme of SteamWorld Heist II, it will be possible to navigate and explore the ocean. Additionally, we will have real-time naval battles and can raid enemy bases to acquire valuable loot and strengthen our crew. When battles are won, take a break at one of the lively bars where you can relax, upgrade your equipment and crew, and forge new alliances with other robots.

SteamWorld Heist II features a robust class system and over 150 items to customize each party member, including weapons, utilities, and ship equipment. The game arrives on August 8th for all platforms, and you can keep an eye on our comparator for the best deals on SteamWorld Heist II and explore the high seas with your steam-powered friends.
