If there’s one thing we can rely on, it’s that Skyrim is forever. Bethesda Softworks has just announced some details on their Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Anniversary Edition, coming out this November 11. They also welcome us back to Tamriel with this new video:
There’s a lot to unpack from the trailer. The Anniversary Edition will include tons of new content in the form of storylines, quests, items, mini-games, skins, and more.
The first important update is a new storyline called Saints and Seducers, previously introduced in the Skyrim Special Edition. Due to the actions of one insane mage, Sheogorath’s domain of the Shivering Isles starts to bleed into Tamriel. Featuring new craftable items, monsters, artifacts, recruitable pets, and epic quests and side-quests, this promises a truly grand addition to the main game.
Rare Curios refers to the caravan of Khajit who arrives in Skyrim, bearing tradeable goods, quirky characters, and tons of new craftable items.
If you’re looking for more of a challenge, Survival pits you against the wilderness itself. This time, hunger, cold, and exhaustion are real and will kill you if you don’t manage them. Forage and hunt for food, find shelter to rest, and for goodness sakes, don’t go wandering around in a blizzard.
The Anniversary Edition will also include a new activity: fishing. Catch over 20 different species of fish for food, display, or as pets.
There’s even more content with Ghosts of the Tribunal, which offers a new questline, armor, and weapons from Morrowind, and The Cause, where a sect of the Mythic Dawn cult attempts to build a new Oblivion Gate in Skyrim. Expect new enemies, locations, weapons, and even a new Daedric mount.
Add to these the existing DLCs of Dawnguard, Hearthfire, and Dragonborn, and you have enough Skyrim to last a lifetime.
The Skyrim Anniversary Edition launches on November 11. If you own the 2016 Skyrim Special Edition, you can unlock the Anniversary Edition’s Fishing, Survival Mode, and the new quests of Saints and Seducers for free. See our prices for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.
