Since humanity landed rovers to explore its bleak surface, Mars has proven to be a fertile ground for science fiction and horror stories. Among them is Fort Solis, a single-player, third-person sci-fi horror game set on Mars that will be released on August 22 for PlayStation 5 and PC. Check out the Fort Solis trailer here:
Fort Solis puts you in the spacesuit of Jack Leary, an engineer sent to a mining colony on the Red Planet to determine the cause of a routine alarm. As usual in a horror game, when you arrive there you find everything has gone wrong—there is no power and the base is devoid of all human life. What starts as a routine investigation quickly spirals into a strange and hallucinatory journey through this desolate frontier and the edge of sanity itself. What dark secrets will you find on the mining base?
Fort Solis is being developed by Fallen Leaf Studios, a new studio made up of developers from Visceral Games. Their aim: create a “tense and atmospheric" horror game with a dense, psychological approach to horror that is in line with Layers of Fear.
The game features the voice talents of Troy Baker, well-known for playing various game characters such as Joel from The Last of Us, and Roger Clark, who plays Arthur in Red Dead Redemption 2. Baker has stated in another trailer that working with Clark was one of the things that drew him to Fort Solis, along with the game's fascinating storyline.
Fort Solis is set to release on August 22 for the PC and PlayStation 5. Watch out for prices for this Martian thriller—shop for a Fort Solis PC key at the best prices from our listings.
