We have been waiting for quite a long time until we have finally been able to play S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl since it was first announced. However, it was really worth it. GSC Game World has managed to create an exciting and immersive adventure that pits you against the unknown while exploring the contaminated area surrounding the Chornobyl nuclear plant. The terrible accident whose repercussions will be still in place for many years is at the centre of an adventure that delves a bit into the supernatural to offer a survival horror experience with first-person shooter mechanics that has captivated the fans since the very moment it was released. Unfortunately, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl suffered from some bugs at launch, but the developer studio is working hard to fix these and has already released a few patches. Having its hands full with the post-release issues, GSC Game World doesn't want to chew more than it can swallow, and it has decided not to complicate things more for itself with additional work.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl is currently available on PC and Xbox Series consoles and it will remain like that for quite a bit. The developer studio has confirmed that it's not currently working on a port of the game for PlayStation 5. Game Director Ievgen Grygorovych has confirmed in a recent interview that the studio is only currently supporting and developing the current versions of the game, which includes the future release of expansions. The game is already profitable for the studio, which doesn't even want to comment on any rumours about versions for other platforms. After so many years focused on releasing the game, now the main focus is to deliver the best possible experience and release additional content to expand it in the future.
There were rumors about a possible exclusivity deal with Microsoft that would last three months, but if you are a S.T.A.L.K.E.R. fan and were waiting to play the game on PS5 or even PS5 Pro you may have to look for other options. A possible agreement between the studio and Netflix to create a future series on the platform seems to be on the table, but nothing has been confirmed about this matter yet.
Meanwhile, if you are looking for an immersive shooter with unique mechanics set in a post-apocalyptic and mysterious area contaminated by radiation, feel free to use our comparator to check out the best discounts for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl.
