Rockstar makes all Max Payne 3 and L.A. Noire DLC free

Sometimes it's quite difficult to understand the reason behind some actions when it comes to video game developers. What happened yesterday with Rockstar Games could be considered a good example. Both Max Payne 3 and L.A. Noire are games that have been available for a long while. The first one was released in 2012 and as the third installment in the popular third-person shooting series, it follows the adventures of  Max Payne as he is pulled into a war between rival gangs in São Paulo, Brazil. On the other hand, L.A. Noire is an action-adventure from 2011 focused on criminal investigation in the city of Los Angeles in 1947. As you can see, the only thing that they share in common is that you will have to deal with criminals in both games, but in a very different way.

Therefore, it's not easy to understand the reasons that have made Rockstar Games update both games so many years later to make free all the additional content released for both games to the date on PC. The updates were announced yesterday and caught everyone by surprise.

If you own Max Payne 3 on PC, you also have access to plenty of expansion packs, including Hostage Negotiation Pack, Painful Memories Pack, Deathmatch Made in Heaven Pack, and more. If you own L.A. Noire on PC there are several additional cases that you can investigate now, including The Naked City, A Slip of the Tongue, Nicholson Electroplating, and others. Unfortunately, the update does not apply to L.A. Noire: The VR Case Files version of the game, so if you were playing the game on VR nothing will change for you.

Obviously, getting content for free is no cause for concern but it leaves you wondering the reasons behind it, and we can't avoid thinking, why so late?
