Release date for Control has been confirmed

Control is coming next summer.

Remedy Entertainment, the studio that created Alan Wake, Max Payne, and Quantum Break have confirmed already the release date for its new project, Control. The action adventure game is coming to PS4, Xbox One, and PC on August 27th. The game was first revealed at the E3 2018 and became a hit from that same moment. Control follows the story of Jesse Faden, a woman with supernatural powers. She breaks into the Federal Bureau of Control to discover the origins of her powers. Upon infiltration, she runs into a hitch and ends protecting the Bureau and becoming the new director.

Jesse is very much like Jean Grey if you know who I’m talking about. She can control the minds of others and bend their will according to hers. She can force people to fight for her, she can make herself levitate, she can rip her environment apart, and many other amazing things. Very Jean Grey-like, I daresay. One of her primary tools is her service weapon, a firearm suitable for any combat scenarios. According to its game director, Mikael Kasurinen, Control is similar to the movie Annihilation. What might have been an unplanned announcement has borne good news that resulted in people talking excitedly about the confirmed launch date. Control is the first title from Remedy since Quantum Break. The game features a nonlinear world that players can explore. That said, the game takes place only inside the Bureau so it’s safe to assume that the agency holds more secrets than one can discover. Aside from that, players get to control the powerful new director of the Bureau, a secret US government agency better known as the Federal Bureau of Control, in charge of investigating paranormal activities. The excitement is building up with this date announcement from Remedy. Control is becoming one of the most interesting and highly-anticipated games of the year.
