Redfall new gameplay trailer and release date announced

Arkane Studios next FPS game finally received a release date alongside a gameplay deep dive video showcasing several futures of its next vampire-slayer venture. From the minds of the team behind Prey and Dishonored, Redfall aims to bring a new bloody spectacle in a carefully crafted world filled with narrative, guns, and, luckily, friends.

Redfall is dubbed a story-driven action by its developers. The game can be played solo or in a 4-members party. Players can pick between four heroes, each with their unique powers. Jacob, the Deadeye with an undead eye; Layla, the telekinetic threat in student debt; Devinder, the verified cryptid hunter; or Remi, the ingenious ingeniera.

Arkane claims Redfall is their most expansive gaming world yet and is packed with environmental storytelling. So lore buffs must be aware of their surroundings if wanting to absorb all the game has to offer. In the Home Bases, players will receive missions from survivors. One mission the preview shows asks the player to turn on a lighthouse. However, shrouds will be on their way, a special type of vampire that can shift through the floor. It's up to the hunter to confront them head-on or stealth their way in. It also depends on what build you invested in the game's skill tree.

If the player opts for an aggressive stance, eliminating multiple vampires will anger the Vampire Gods, who will summon a juggernaut called the Rook, turning the player into the prey. Several encounters outside the main story will keep the game alive, providing different challenges should you choose to face them.

Redfall is one of Microsoft's promises for 2023 to boost the Xbox exclusivity roster. The game arrives exclusively on Xbox Series X|S and PC on May 2, 2023. Check out our comparator for the cheapest Redfall CD keys and slay away, vampire hunter.
