It was leaked and now it's officially confirmed. The iconic Western video game developed by Rockstar Games will be released on PC. Red Dead Redemption was already available on PlayStation 4, Xbox and Nintendo Switch but an enhanced port will soon be playable on PC. The game follows the story of former outlaw John Marston, who is coerced by federal agents to hunt down his old gang members. Action to boot and a thrilling storyline deliver an immersive experience that feels like an authentic Western. After so many years, the franchise has many fans, especially due to the huge success of Red Dead Redemption II, which became one of Rockstar's biggest hits (nowhere close to GTA V, of course). The second game was released on PC opening a door that the developer has finally gone through to release Red Dead Redemption on the platform.
With the help of Double Eleven studio, Rockstar has created a version of Red Dead Redemption for PC that will take advantage of modern technologies to offer players an enhanced experience.
“In collaboration with Double Eleven, this new version adds PC-specific enhancements including native 4K resolution at up to 144hz on compatible hardware, monitor support for both Ultrawide (21:9) and Super Ultrawide (32:9), HDR10 support, and full keyboard and mouse functionality. There’s also support for NVIDIA DLSS 3.7 and AMD FSR 3.0 upscaling technologies, NVIDIA DLSS Frame Generation, adjustable draw distances, shadow quality settings, and more.”
Those who missed the game back in the day will be able to enjoy the adventure that inspired Red Dead Redemption II very soon. The release of Red Dead Redemption on PC is scheduled for October 29th. Also, this version of the game will include the Undead Nightmare expansion. It's a standalone adventure that pits John Marston against hordes of zombies in an alternate timeline, where he has to look for a cure to save his wife and son from a deadly plague that has turned them into monsters.
