You can play PAYDAY 3 for free this weekend

Following the recent closed beta test event for PAYDAY 3, developer Starbreeze Studios is giving all the fans of the series the opportunity to play the game for free ahead of release. A new beta event will take place this weekend and it's open to all players on PC via Steam and Xbox Series X/S, no matter if they have pre-ordered the game or not. The event will kick off next Friday and it will run until September 11 on said platforms.

Be ready for a lot of players

According to Starbreeze Studios, the goal of this beta is to test the stability of the servers ahead of the launch of PAYDAY 3. Therefore, you can expect to find many players in the game. With no problems finding partners to share the fun on your heists, the full co-op multiplayer capabilities of PAYDAY 2's sequel will be at your disposal. Unfortunately, the open beta will not include anything new when compared to the content included in the recent closed beta.

Those who participate in the open beta will let you play as one of the iconic Payday gang members, including Dallas, Hoxton, Chains, and Wolf, as they attempt to free some bank employees from their cumbersome task of guarding a vault full of money in the new bank heist No Rest for the Wicked. The heist will be playable in all difficulties, with a cap of Infamy Level 22 and Weapon Level Progression 8, and it will allow you to discover some of the new stealth mechanics featured in PAYDAY 3.

Do not be concerned if you were hoping for more in terms of performance. The content in the beta doesn't represent the final version of the game, and it's based on the version revealed back in April. Still, the open beta is a great opportunity to visit the world of PAYDAY 3 ahead of its release, which is scheduled for September 21 on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.
