Phantom Brave: The Lost Hero is now available for Switch and PlayStation

NIS America has unveiled a new launch trailer for its tactical RPG Phantom Brave: The Lost Hero and confirmed that the game is now available for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5. To celebrate the launch, all players can download the Phantom Isle outfits for Marona and Ash from the original Phantom Brave for free until February 13.

Phantom Brave: The Lost Hero is a direct sequel of the first Phantom Brave, which recently received a re-release as Phantom Brave PC. It’s one of the spin-offs in Nippon Ichi’s catalog, known for developing tactical games like Disgaea 7: Vows of the Virtueless. On the publishing side, NIS America brings several Japanese titles to the West, such as Ys X: Nordics and the upcoming The Legend of Heroes: Trails Through Daybreak II.

Phantoms can also be Confined to special items called Gadgets, enabling slow but mighty attacks. Protagonist Marona has learned a unique skill called Confriend, which allows her to merge with one of the Phantoms, transforming her appearance and unlocking special attacks based on the strongest fused member. There are multiple ways to clear a stage, and everything depends on your tactics, Phantoms, and unconventional weapons.

Phantom Brave: The Lost Hero is an unconventional tactical RPG that features free movement on a gridless map. During battles, players summon squad members by Confining their souls to objects in the environment. These characters range from traditional classes like Warrior, Archer, and Mage to monsters and beast-people, each with unique traits and abilities. On Skullrock Island, the base of operations in Phantom Brave: The Lost Hero, players can create 51 different unit types, unlocking new facilities such as Shop and Salvage, depending on the class summoned. The grind to level 9999 starts here, along with the hunt for rare items and challenges in random dungeons.

The Phantom Brave: The Lost Hero Season Pass is also available, offering various additional content, including access to bonus stories featuring characters from previous Nippon Ichi Software titles, extra color options for the Sailor, Healer, and Chef classes, as well as consumable items to aid in your journey.

Phantom Brave: The Lost Hero is available now for Switch, PS4, and PS5. A PC version via Steam is set to launch this spring.
