Vermintide arrives to consoles this fall
Jul 27, 2016, 18:32 Fyra Frost
Warhammer Fantasy Battles tabletop game has become the perfect inspiration for many games over the years. Games like Shadow of the Horned Rat, Dark Omen, Mark of Chaos, Mordheim: City of the Dammed or Age Of Reckoning have become perfect examples of titles that have managed to capture the essence of Games Workshop’s miniature game and successfully turn it into a good videogame. In most cases those titles have been strategy games, so it was quite refreshing to see Fatshark Studio take a different approach when they created Warhammer: End Times – Vermintide as a first person shooter. They did a great job and released what’s probably the best co-operative multiplayer game of last year with more than half a million players. If fighting against endless hordes of Skaven for the city of Ubersreik is not motivating enough, Vermintide has a fluid gameplay, their five classes are unique and quite different from each other, it has a solid combat system with easy-to-grab/difficult-to-master mechanics, and manages to do all that being quite faithful to the franchise and mantaining game immersion. All that makes you want to have more after eatch match. Warhammer: End Times – Vermintide | Console Announcement Trailer Today Fatshark have announced that they will finally release Warhammer: End Times – Vermintide on Playstation 4 and Xbox One this fall, more exactly on October 4. Nordic Games will be the company in charge of the Worldwide distribution of the physical editions, that will also include Sigmar’s Blessing and Drachenfels DLC. All we can say is that, it was about time! The post Vermintide arrives to consoles this fall appeared first on News, updates from the DLCompare.com Blog.

Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3 demo looks awesome!
Jul 22, 2016, 20:27 Fyra Frost
City Interactive Games has made public the demonstration video that was shown behind closed doors during the E3 2015. It was available for press members only but now we all get a chance to see what they have been working on for the third installment of the tactical shooting series. Sniper Ghost Warrior 3 Developer Commentary Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3’s lead narrative designer, Jess Lebow, guides us through the video with his comments where he explains some aspects of the gameplay and what they aim for on this new AAA title. The use of a drone for exploration and information gathering takes a very important role on this specific mission, and the trailer shows that a meticulous preparation can make things much easier when we are trying to locate and eliminate a target without being killed in the process. There are some aspects of the game that could use some polishing but it definitely looks good and shows enough potential to be a great shooting title for those that like commandos. Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3 is due to release on the first halfof 2016 for Playstation 4. PC and Xbox One The post Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3 demo looks awesome! appeared first on .

Jul 14, 2016, 15:35 Fyra Frost
It happened again. Total War: Warhammer has been a success and any tiny bit of information about the game is made publig as soon as it leaks. SEGA should put a little bit more of effort if they do not want things revealed ahead of their plans. It turns out that upcoming DLC for their strategy game based on the Warhammer universe is going to have the Beastmen as protagonists as shown in the video that has been leaked. Total War: WARHAMMER – Call of the Beastmen Trailer It had already been teased by developer Creative Assembly that this race of hybrids would be the coming to the game soon but now it has been officially confirmed. There is not much info about the characteristics of this new faction. We do not know yet if they are going to function like the Chaos and become a deadly horde that will rampage through the Old World or if they are going to behave like the rest of the factions, building settlements and expansing their territory. What we do know is the release date for Call of the Beastmen DLC and it’s going to be available on July 28th, and also that you can already pre-purchase it through Steam with a discount of 10% off. Total War: Warhammer blood & gore DLC is out
Jul 1, 2016, 18:33 Fyra Frost
Developer Creative Assembly keeps adding more stuff to their recently released title of strategic battles inspired on the Warhammer Fantasy Battles tabletop miniatures game. This time they have released a new DLC that provides exactly what you can read on its name, Blood for the Blood God. The theme selected to announce this gruesome addon couldn’t be more appropiate, since Khorne is the Chaos God of blood, war, rage and murder.   Total War: WARHAMMER – Blood for the Blood God Trailer This DLC adds a list of all new effects and features that will make the game more realistic, (in a bloody way at least): Blood spurts Gory spatter on unit models Limb and head dismemberment (humanoids and non-legendary characters) Zombies, skeletons and Grave Guard may continue to fight after dismemberment! Explosive Gibbing from deadly mid-torso strikes Blood-drenched UI elements New random, global campaign events that generate greater carnage in battle   Someone could argue that they are being cheap, selling something that should have been in Total War: Warhammer from the start. But you have to keep in mind that if something like this was included in the base game it would have been rated for older people, making it available to less people. Maybe adding it as a toggle option with an age confirmation check requirement would have been the solution? Other than that, Creative Assembly keeps polishing this jewel of a game with their first big update that comes loaded with balance changes, performance fixes, multiplayer maps and a new type of cavalry unit for the Vampire Counts army, the Blood Knights. You can read all the changes implemented in the patch notes. Now it’s time for my Chaos army to continue crushing all hope and spreading corruption through the Old World, hoping that they keep steady that flow of updates and free stuff. “Blood for the Blood God! Overwatch Dev Q&A
May 23, 2016, 18:59 Fyra Frost
In a few hours from now, Overwatch will be going live. Over the span of a week Blizzard has released 2 cinematic shorts giving us a glimpse of the background stories of Hanzo and Genji in “Dragons” and Soldier 76 in “Hero“. Blizzard has also had several launch events in several places where they also displayed colossal collectibles of Genji, Pharah, and Tracer. And the latest being the Live Q&A session streamed over Facebook. Here are some tidbits from the session: The Overwatch graphic novel titled “First Strike” is on the way Animated shorts – There will be more animated shorts in the future. Jeff Kaplan called the first set as “season 1” Game modes – they prototype a lot of game modes, some of which might not stand on their own and are better suited as brawls. And that game brawls are the perfect testing grounds for new modes, and might make their way into quick play if successful. Another possible outcome would be that they could be part of the map elements like the moving platforms on Volskaya and Route 66. Game balance – “triangular” balance approach – they would consider the player feedback and compare it with their own feelings towards game balance as well as compare them with the game statistics(hero performance across different skill levels). There might also be slight differences between console and pc versions, an example sited was how aim assist on the console versions interacted with Symmetra’s turrets. Clan/Guild systems – They consider social features as very important and that they are looking into those systems. Lastly, Jeff Kaplan ended the Q&A session with a call to the community to be nice to one another. The post Overwatch Dev Q&A appeared first on News, updates from the DLCompare.com Blog.
