Less than a month before the release of One Piece Odyssey, Bandai Namco continues to release new trailers to excite players and warm them up to its next RPG installment in one of the world's most famous anime. This time, the video shows more about the events in Marineford and Dressrosa, so get your tissues ready because many feelings are coming once again.
Just be aware that the trailer may show some spoilers from the original One Piece for those who are not up to date, so anime-lover viewer discretion is advised.
One Piece Odyssey will debut a story written by its own creator, Eiichiro Oda, but will also employ the Memories feature where the Straw Hats revisit old arcs from the anime but with knowledge of these past events. This can show a different side to the story we already know and introduce it to those who don't. Outlets are pleased with the game development and sparing no praise for our pirates' adventures. It looks like ILCA is delivering another masterpiece modeled right after Dragon Quest XI.
Regarding gameplay, One Piece Odyssey features classic turn-based combat with its own twist. The character's skills boast a system similar to Rock, Paper, Scissors, where one excels over the other, a feature familiar from many games, especially Fire Emblem Engage. Rock is Strength skills, Paper is Speed, and Scissors are called Technique. Each overpowers the other consequently. Each character has a type related to this system, like Zoro and Robin are speed types but can learn all skills overall.
The trailer announced a demo set for January 10, 2023, and the full release soon after that, on January 13, 2023, for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. It's currently available for pre-order, and you can check our comparator for the cheapest CD Keys on One Piece Odyssey and seize the opportunity to become the Pirate King.
