A new Tekken 8 character is revealed among controversy

Bandai Namco has been revealing the characters that will appear in Tekken 8 for a long while now. We have seen announced classic fighters like Marshal Law and Paul Phoenix with a new look, fighting against some opponents while performing new attacks and combos. The upcoming installment in one of the most popular fighting series will also bring back characters that we have not seen fighting for quite a long time, like Jun Kazama. Surprisingly, the announcement of the latest Tekken 8 fighter has been accompanied by some controversy.

Brian Fury's accidental reveal

Brian Fury is not a new character in the Tekken universe. The mad cyborg became a staple character in the franchise after appearing for the first time in Tekken 3, and his powerful kickboxing movements make him a favorite of the fans. He is the only Tekken 8 character that has been revealed twice. He first appeared on an official Instagram account a few days ago, and this caused a reaction from Tekken series director Katsuhiro Harada, who complained about the early reveal. The original plan was to show Brian during the Combo Breaker fighting game tournament. This event forced Tekken producer Michael Murray to apologize via Twitter, and now Brian Fury has been officially revealed (a second time) in the video that you can watch below.

Controversies aside, Bandai Namco is yet to announce a release date for Tekken 8, which is annoying some fans. The upcoming release of Street Fighter 6 may divert the attention of the community for a while, but there is a majority of fans who would like to see Tekken 8 as part of the next EVO lineup.

It's unlikely that the publisher will go for a surprise launch, but the long string of recent character reveals makes us wonder if the upcoming game is going to feature more fighters than ever to fill up the rest of the summertime with addinitonal reveals. Maybe we will see a period with no news about Tekken 8 for a while when the list of fighters is complete. In any case, you can rest assured that you will find the best offers on Tekken 8 CD keys as soon as the game is available to pre-order. Meanwhile, you will have to stick to Tekken 7, and Street Fighter 6 could be a substitute very soon too.
