Capcom was visibly concerned about the complaints received after the first Monster Hunter Wilds open beta. A major number of complaints from players who participated in the event were aimed at the system requirements to play the game on PC which were considered quite steep by a majority of players. The developer and publisher promised that it would work to make the upcoming game more accessible to PC players while showing a video showcasing how good the game looked on PlayStation 5. Since then, the big community of PC players that eagerly awaits for the game's release has been waiting for news, and these finally have arrived.
The system requirements to play Monster Hunter Wilds on PC have been lowered significantly. The recommended settings have been lowered down from the previous ones to the following:
- Resolution 1080p(FHD)
- Frame Rate 60fps (with Frame Generation enabled)
- OS Windows®10(64-bit Required)/Windows®11(64-bit Required)
- Processor: Intel Core i5-10400, Intel Core i3-12100, or AMD Ryzen 5 3600
- Memory: 16GB
- Graphics: GeForce RTX 2060 Super(VRAM 8GB, Radeon RX 6600(VRAM 8GB)
- VRAM: 8GB or more required.
- Storage: 75G SSD
- Note: SSD required. This game is expected to run at 1080p (Upscaled) / 60 fps (with Frame Generation enabled) under the "Medium" graphics setting. DirectStorage supported.
As you can notice, they are significantly less demanding and more players will be able to enjoy an optimal experience on PC when the game is released. It's also interesting to see the space storage needed for the game almost cut in half out of the blue, and we can't stop wondering how they managed to optimize it to such an extent. You can even test how well the game will perform on your PC specifically, as Capcom has released a benchmark tool. You can download and install it to figure out if your PC is capable of handling the game and what kind of performance you can expect to get from your current setup.
Monster Hunter Wilds will be playable for free during the next stage of the second beta event, which will take place later this week. Those participating will have access to new content that wasn't present in the first open beta, and it will be a great opportunity to test the game ahead of February 27.
