Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 has arrived on PC

After more than a year of anticipation, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 has finally launched on Windows, completing the Marvel’s Spider-Man trilogy on PC. Leading up to its release, concerns arose regarding the quality of the port due to the lack of official updates from the developers. However, just a day before launch, Nixxes Software unveiled the PC system requirements—revealing a surprisingly forgiving set of specifications.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 includes all the expected PC port features, such as DLSS 3, FSR 3.1 upscaling, and frame generation technologies, along with Intel’s XeSS upscaler. The game also supports ultrawide resolutions, including a 48:9 aspect ratio, with cinematics viewable in up to 32:9.

The system requirements are divided into ray-traced and non-ray-traced configurations, and surprisingly, the baseline specs are relatively low compared to other recent big-budget releases. Even an entry-level GPU like the Nvidia GTX 1650 can run the game at 720p 30fps with an Intel Core i3-8100 and 16GB of RAM. For medium to high settings without ray tracing, an RTX 3060 or RTX 3070 will suffice. Meanwhile, for those with the latest hardware, an RTX 4070 to RTX 4090 is recommended for maximum performance with ray tracing.

Good News for PC Players

One of the most controversial topics regarding PlayStation games on PC has been the mandatory PSN account requirement. This issue frustrated many gamers, particularly those in regions where PSN is unavailable, leading to review-bombing incidents for critically acclaimed titles like God of War Ragnarök.

Fortunately, Sony has listened to player feedback and recently made PSN account linking optional for most of their PC releases—including Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.

That said, players who choose to link their PSN accounts will receive an exclusive bonus DLC. For Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, this means early access to the Spider-Man 2099 Black Suit and the Miles Morales 2099 Suit. Regardless of whether players opt in or not, this decision is a win for everyone.
