With the announcement of Intel’s Battlemage GPU set for next month, it’s not surprising to find next-gen Intel GPUs appearing in shipping documents. Today, @josef972 has highlighted entries that reference Intel’s “BMG B580” (Battlemage ARC B580) graphics card. Although the listing seems to pertain solely to GPU packaging, the ARC B580 designation appears to represent a genuine next-generation Intel GPU.
The B580 will serve as Intel’s successor to the ARC A580. With this new GPU, Intel plans to transition to its new Xe2 graphics architecture. This means gamers can look forward to enhancements addressing many of the shortcomings of Intel’s previous GPU architectures. Consequently, this should lead to a much improved product for consumers and fewer challenges that Intel needs to resolve with their GPU drivers.

If Intel maintains its previous naming conventions, we could anticipate Battlemage GPU variants that include ARC B580, ARC B750, and ARC B770. Currently, the specifications for these GPUs remain undisclosed.
Intel is projected to target the lower segment of the GPU market with its ARC Battlemage GPUs. It is suggested that most of their offerings will be priced below £500. However, we should clarify that this is merely speculation. To capture market share, Intel must introduce competitively priced GPUs. If their offerings aren’t attractively priced, they shouldn’t expect gamers to choose them over more established GPU manufacturers.
There is a possibility that Intel might disclose some details about the Battlemage towards the end of 2024 or at least in early 2025 when NVIDIA and AMD are set to launch their next-gen GPUs. Recent reports suggest that December 2024 is targeted as the launch month for these next-gen GPUs, so we’ll see if Intel is ready to unveil its new desktop range for the general public.
