It was first announced back in 2018 and its release was originally planned for the launch of the Xbox Series X/S, but Halo Infinite's development has been slow, especially during the last year. Its gameplay was shown off at the Xbox Games Showcase event in July 2020 and it had a very mixed, if not downright chilly reception from gamers. The game's facial animations and overall graphical quality were not up to players' expectations, looking a bit dated. Fortunately, things have changed since then and a couple of two studios, Sperasoft and Certain Affinity, gave a hand to 343 Industries.
Halo Infinite is now scheduled for the end of the year but we still don't have a precise release date in sight. On the other hand, the official Xbox blog reveals that Halo Infinite will offer crossplay for its multiplayer mode, and Matt Booty, head of Xbox Games Studio, gave some details about the PC version:
We've been working closely with the PC community to ensure that Halo Infinite delivers the ideal experience on PC, which includes popular features like ultra-wide screen compatibility, the ability to assign an action to three different keys, a wide variety of advanced graphics options, and more. We want to make sure that Halo makes the PC community proud.
It seems that those who intend to play Halo Infinite on the PC will not be left out. We should have more information about the other versions and probably a release date for Halo Infinite soon. Considering that E3 2021 was recently announced and that Xbox will be there, the event could be the perfect setting for such an announcement. In the meantime, you can keep track of Halo Infinite's price via our price comparison tool, and even set an alert to be notified when prices drop.
