Obsidian Entertainment is putting great care into the development of Grounded. The game continues a journey through Early Access that started quite a while ago, but the studio keeps adding more content to expand its world. Grounded is a multiplayer survival game where you find yourself reduced to the size of an ant and left to survive in the most dangerous place you could ever imagine, the backyard of your home. The game offers you an immersive adventure reminiscent of the Honey, I Shrunk the Kids film from 1989. Grounded features survival and base-building mechanics and a complete crafting system that lets you use materials gathered from your surroundings and the insects you manage to defeat to create the equipment and gear you will need to survive.
What's in the new update?
Grounded offers you plenty of biomes to explore, and a new patch is about to add a few more. The Hot and Hazy update is coming on October 20, and it will add four new biomes and eight new creatures to the game. Players will be able to explore the Crab Sandbox, the Black Ant Hill, the Trash Heap, and the Picnic Table. These locations will offer you a new world of possibilities, including dangerous hazards and materials to craft new armor, weapons, and consumables. The update also includes a revamp of the armor system that makes each piece modify your stamina regen depending on its weight. Food has been reworked too, and now it's divided into snacks that just satiate your hunger and meals that also give you a lasting buff.
As time passes, Grounded is shaping into a full-fledged survival game with a unique perspective of the world. It already has the attention of many players, even if it's still on Early Access. If you are one of those and don't want to wait until October 20 to try the Hot and Hazy update features, you can log into the test server where they are already available.
