We’ve already said goodbye to 2018 and we are now facing a new year. Regardless of how last year was for you, it was undoubtedly great for the big winners of the recent New York Games Awards. The awards ceremony was held at the SVA Theatre, New York and was streamed live and watched by more than 400K users through Twitch.
The New York Videogames Critics Circle revealed the winners last night and the crowd went wild when God of War was announced as the winner of the Big Apple Award for the Game of the Year. Red Dead Redemption 2 also proved to have bested the other games during the Awards Night, with Tetris Effect getting the Best Virtual Reality Game Award, both these games went home with two awards each. That’s a great feat considering the several brilliant video games nominated for the same categories. Florence took home the Best Mobile Game, and Dead Cells won the Best Indie Game, plus, Knicks Gaming was awarded the Best Rookie Esports Team.
