Epic Games is hitting us again with a crossover for Fortnite and this time the chosen theme couldn't be a better one: Borderlands. On the occasion of the upcoming launch of the third installments in the Borderlands series, Fortnite's update 10.20 introduces a new collaboration event that will allow players to visit Pandora... Well, maybe not the real Pandora but at least it looks pretty similar.

Fortnite X Mayhem event has already started and it will make you forget quite fast about the nasty B.R.U.T.E. It's still there, of course, but at least you can see it on the map as soon as someone activates it, so it will be easier to avoid. Starting today and until September 10 you will be able to explore a brand new zone called Pandora Rift and also gather free rewards like Borderlands-themed weapon skins and sprays.
There is a Psycho Bundle available in the shop for those that want to look even cooler and get their own Claptrap. We don't know if he is going to be as overenthusiastic and chatty as the original. Make sure you have some pills for the possible headache, just in case.
During the event, a new mechanic will be in place for those participating. If you don't take damage for a few seconds, you will start regenerating life in a similar way of what happens in Borderlands with the shields. It may not have a severe impact on the gameplay but it will definitely save you a lot of healing items. Sadly enough, Fortnite X Mayhem will not include one of the main features of Borderlands' games: a gazillion guns.
Fortnite X Mayhem event will end just three days before the launch of Borderlands 3. If you are waiting for one of the most anticipated games of the year you can quench your thirst of Borderlands having some fun during this event but don't forget that the real deal is coming very soon.
