Square Enix has dropped a fresh trailer for Final Fantasy VII Rebirth titled "Destined for Rebirth," revealing Cloud and his crew grasping the threat posed by Sephiroth. With a dramatic voice-over as the backdrop, the preview features iconic scenes from the classic Final Fantasy VII, including Sephiroth in Nibelheim engulfed in flames.
Furthermore, there are some unreleased game clips, including one where Cloud lets out a resounding and anguished cry to Tifa and, of course, the always mysterious appearance of Zack Fair. "Destined for Rebirth" highlights epic moments, including the battle against the Terror of the Deep boss (just before the dolphin scene in Lower Junon), the Junon ceremony, and the Nibelheim Incident. It also offers the first glimpses of newly imagined creatures and characters, such as Midgardsormr.

Voted as the "Most Anticipated" Game of 2024 at The Game Awards, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is the second part of the three parts planned for the critically acclaimed Final Fantasy VII remake project. This standalone adventure across a vast and vibrant planet follows Cloud, Tifa, Barret, Aerith, and Red XIII as they escape from the dystopian city of Midgar into the wide world beyond.
To track down Sephiroth, a haunting figure from Cloud's past with plans to rule the planet, these unlikely heroes team up with new companions like the spirited ninja operative Yuffie and the wisecracking, feline-shaped robot Cait Sith. Lead these characters into battle to defy their fates. Explore classic locales reimagined in dazzling detail. Encounter dozens of hours of rewarding side quests, fiend hunts, mini-games, and rich stories of the planet's people and cultures.
The new features added in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth include a sprawling open world with fast travel. In battle, the addition of Synergy between characters allows for combined abilities between two of them – and perhaps even three in the final version. Additionally, two new members join the party: Yuffie Kisaragi, already seen in Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade, and Red XIII, who was previously only an NPC in the first game. It has been confirmed that Vincent Valentine will also join the group as an NPC in Rebirth, and we can imagine that Cid Highwind will also be non-playable.
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is the second part of the classic Final Fantasy VII remake. The game is set to release on February 29 exclusively for PlayStation 5. However, we know the game will eventually launch for PC, just like its predecessor.
