Set in a zombie-infested post-apocalyptic environment, the game puts players in the role of a mother and her child navigating this bleak world. The gameplay focuses on teaching the son how to fend for himself after the mother is bitten and begins her transformation into a zombie. This involves demonstrating essential skills such as scavenging, cooking, and combat in front of the son, gradually allowing him to take over, while also managing stress levels.

With each playthrough, the map and random events alter dynamically, ensuring that every session feels distinct, so your experience will differ from that of others.

Though user ratings are not available on the Epic Games Store, the PC version has accumulated over 1,500 user reviews on Steam, where 79 percent of the ratings are positive. Consequently, the game has earned a "Mostly Positive" status, just short of "Very Positive."
