Enshrouded reveals a roadmap full of novelties
Enshrouded caught the eye of many fans of the survival genre when it entered Early Access and it's been progressing steadily throughout last year. The game took advantage of the hype generated by the success of Palworld to establish itself as a solid option for those looking for a type of experience that was less cartoonish and more immersive. With its voxel-based graphics, sprawling open world, and dynamic combat it offers a unique survival experience set in a fantasy world afflicted by the Shroud, a mysterious pestilence unleashed by your ancestors that corrupts and mutates everything it touches. Developer Keen Games introduced many modifications and new features to the game throughout 2024 and it now celebrates the first anniversary of the game. Since Enshrouded is still in Early Access, the development process will continue for the time being, and the developer studio has ambitious plans for 2025 that has shared with the community by revealing a new roadmap.
Roadmap for 2025 and release window
Enshrouded will receive many novelties that will enhance its gameplay during 2025. The first big batch of these has arrived as a free update, Pact of the Flame, which has introduced voice and game text chat for multiplayer sessions, alongside new quests, tools, building materials, items and more. The changes significantly improve many aspects of the game, but the developer studio is preparing much more. The roadmap for 2025 includes new gameplay mechanics, a new event system, weather effects, and the possibility of sharing worlds and builds. Also, players will be able to teleport to other servers, and a brand new aquatic biome will offer players new options for exploration.
All these additions will enhance Enshrouded ahead of its future release, which, according to the developer studio, could possibly take place in Spring 2026.
