It’s been a big year for Elden Ring, FromSoftware’s fantasy masterpiece that was named Game of the Year at the DICE awards. It seems inevitable we are going to get more content given that FromSoftware typically releases DLCs within one year of their game’s launch, and they did not disappoint. A new expansion called Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree is officially under development and will be the first single-player DLC for the game.
Rise, Tarnished, and let us walk a new path together.

Of course, we have no release window yet, which is maddening. According to an official blog post, it will be available for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Steam. Apart from that we only have the image pictured in the Twitter announcement, but that’s enough to send fans abuzz with speculation.
Is that rider one of the Tarnished, or someone new? Could it be Miquella, the missing demigod we’ve heard so much lore about? Why is the Erdtree in the distance apparently bleeding golden sap? Is it even the Erdtree, or its counterpart, the Haligtree? We don’t know, but more revelations are sure to come in time.
The expansion comes just after the one-year anniversary of Elden Ring’s launch and after having sold over 20 million worldwide, and grabbing numerous awards, including from DICE and The Game Awards. There has only been one DLC prior to Shadow of the Erdtree, which was the Coliseum multiplayer patch that improved PvP.
Watch this space for more news about Shadow of the Erdtree. In the meantime, if you have yet to pick up the game, you can find a cheap Elden Ring PS5 key from our listing. Of course, lest we think that Elden Ring is the only FromSoftware game out there, the studio is also working on the mecha action game Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon.
