Darkest Dungeon 2 newest DLC is available

Darkest Dungeon II: Secrets of the Coven is the second free adventure module in the Kingdoms, the standalone grand campaign strategy mode for Darkest Dungeon II released on April 14, 2025, for PC and Mac. Console versions are expected to follow soon.

New quest, New challenges, New enemy faction

Released in January 2025, Kingdoms reimagines Darkest Dungeon II‘s structure, tasking players not just with survival but with defending the realm’s network of inns against monstrous threats. Unlike the original Confessions mode, each Kingdoms module offers a different flavor of challenge. With Secrets of the Coven, you will investigate a secretive witch cult aiming to destabilize the Kingdom. The update introduces a new enemy faction—the Coven—and a fresh Kingdoms questline, offering a darker and more insidious atmosphere than the previous module, Hunger of the Beast Clan.

Responding to community feedback, Secrets of the Coven adds several quality-of-life improvements: Inn Storage, Item Selling, and Improved Hero Path Comparisons in both Kingdoms and Confessions modes, new custom difficulty settings, and more!

Unfortunately, Darkest Dungeon's beloved narrator, Wayne June, passed away just after our initial Kingdoms launch in January. He has delivered iconic readings for Darkest Dungeon for many years, and Red Hook Studio wants the legacy of his performance to remain untouched. As such, the studio will not be training an AI model, recasting the Academic voice actor, or attempting to recreate his voice in any way. His work stands for itself, and the community is grateful for his contribution throughout the Darkest Dungeon and Darkest Dungeon 2. Kingdoms modules 2 and 3 will not add any further work from Wayne.
