Cyberpunk 2077 returns to PlayStation Store

Cyberpunk 2077 returns to PlayStation Store

Cyberpunk 2077 was the most anticipated video game of 2020 and probably one of the launches with more drama associated with it in the latest years, at least on consoles. It was expected that the game would feature impressive graphics along with gameplay full of action and a thrilling storyline that takes place in a futuristic world where technology, violence, and money are the main ways of thriving. There were so many people waiting for the launch of the new game of the creators of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, that everything pointed to one of the biggest releases in the story of video games, and it was, at least in a certain way. Cyberpunk 2077 sold a ludicrous number of copies across all platforms even before it was released, but the performance of the game wasn't up to what players expected, especially on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles.

Of course, you wouldn't expect the same level of graphics quality on those platforms as on Xbox Series X/S or PlayStation 5, but there was no specific version of Cyberpunk 2077 for the next-generation consoles available at launch, so the situation was a bit awkward for the players. If you add a number of bugs and other problems into the mix, the result was a huge wave of complaints, attempts to refund the game, and even a few lawsuits against the developer. Meanwhile, CD Projekt Red kept trying to fix the game and even sacrificed their post-launch plans for the game to get everything in order. Cyberpunk 2077 was removed from PlayStation Store due to those issues, but six month later it's finally coming back to Sony's shop,

When it comes to Sony's consoles, Cyberpunk 2077 is in a better state than it was. As a result of that, the game is now available on PlayStation Store again. But it's not all good news. The version available is the PlayStation 4 one, which you can play on PS5 via backward compatibility. The specific version for the next-gen console will be available at some point this year. Also, it's recommended to play the game only on PS4 Pro and PS5 due to performance issues.

It seems that Cyberpunk 2077 has still a long way to go until it becomes what it was supposed to be at launch. Let's hope that CD Projekt Red manages to fix all problems soon enough so they can focus on delivering more content for the game, especially multiplayer.
