CDPR is not done with Cyberpunk 2077

Developer CD Projekt RED achieved the impossible when it brought back Cyberpunk 2077 from almost certain death after one of the worst and most disappointing releases in the story of video games. With a lot of effort, the studio fixed the problems in the game and took gameplay to a new level, especially with the release of Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty. The expansion introduced a spy thriller as a new side story that added depth to V's adventure, but it also expanded Night City with a new area, a myriad of quests, new skills to unlock, and many more novelties. As a result,  the number of copies of Cyberpunk 2077 sold grew exponentially and the game even won awards that acknowledged all the work from the studio.

Surprises on the way

We already know that there will be no more expansions for the game, as CDPR is now focused on the new title in The Witcher series and a sequel to Cyberpunk 2077. In fact, the studio was supposedly done with the game, or so it stated when patch 2.1 was released in 2023. However, a new update is going to be released soon! The Polish developer will reveal more details about the new features coming in update 2.2 later today but has already revealed that the update will not include two features requested by the community: New Game Plus and support for additional improvements for PS5 Pro.

It's still too early to anticipate what kind of features the new update will include, but it's quite likely that any element that modifies the story in any way will be out of the equation. However, there is still room for surprises and we can't wait to find out what CDPR still has in store for the game.

After selling over 30 million copies, Cyberpunk 2077 is still one of the best sci-fi RPG adventures released in recent years. Whatever its developer decides to add will surely enhance the game.
