The upcoming release of the Destiny 2: Lightfall expansion will bring plenty of novelties to Bungie's first-person shooter. In fact, the game is undergoing significant changes even before the expansion arrives. All Destiny 2 players know that the free basic version of the game gives you access to plenty of content but it leaves out quite a few exciting features that you can only access via expansions. Armor mods were one of those, at least until now. Bungie has announced that all Destiny 2 players can now upgrade their characters with standard armor mods.
This change opens up plenty of personalization options for all players, allowing them to try different setups and look for the one that benefits their preferred gameplay style. Bungie explained the reasons behind this change in a blog post about the matter:
"All standard armor mods were unlocked for everyone! With big changes coming to buildcrafting in Lightfall, we want to give everyone a chance to enjoy all of the standard mods in their current state for the rest of the Season. Standard mods refer to everything but raid and artifact mods. Players who were granted access to armor mods in yesterday’s patch will not have them appear as unlocked in Collections. They can still use them freely in their armor."
You should definitely take advantage of mods usage if you are yet to try this Destiny 2 feature. The upcoming release of Destiny 2: Lightfall will also bring some changes to the system along with three new subclasses, a new planet to explore, the next chapter in the story, and even more surprises.
We will know more about the novelties coming with the expansion in the coming weeks, but you can check out the best deals on Destiny 2: Lightfall PC keys already with our comparator.
