Even if this is bad news for all those that expected to play with their friends no matter what platform they are playing on doesn't shut the door completely, and that's much better than nothing. Borderlands 3 is to be released for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC as an Epic Games Store exclusive. There is already enough drama about exclusive deals with Epic Games for PC going on for some titles like Shenmue 3, and Sony has not been too keen on allowing crossplay on PlayStation 4 so far, so we can guess that crossplay is not a popular topic for most developers nowadays. It is true that crossplay is a kind of feature that only benefits the players and, if anything, gives them more options and could extend the life of certain multiplayer games. If there are not enough players for a certain game in PC, for example, those players would get to play with people from other platforms instead of being forced to play on empty servers or completely forget about multiplayer gameplay. Also, we have to keep in mind that crossplay implies an effort on the developers and publishers side to launch patches on all platforms at the same time and such, but given that the developers of Borderlands 3 seem to be committed to supporting crossplay we can only see benefits for the players on it. We will have to wait for a while to see what happens with Borderlands 3, but so far the game is looking awesome. We expect to know a bit more about it in the livestream event that will be happening today at 7 am PT/10 am ET/ 4 pm CEST and that you will be able to watch on Youtube. Some folks may be speculating that this thing tomorrow may be about cross play. Tomorrow’s thing is awesome, but *not* about cross-play. But, Good News: We are committed to supporting cross-play for Borderlands 3 with our partners as soon as practicable after launch. #talklater https://t.co/XtUzrBpySP
