Following a leak that revealed footage and information about Assassin's Creed Mirage a few days ago, Ubisoft finally officially revealed the game last weekend. As the leaks anticipated, Mirage is set in Baghdad in a period previous to the events in Assassin's Creed Valhalla. The new game will take us to the 9th Century and we will be in the shoes of Basim Ibn Ishaq. The name will be familiar to all those that have played the Valhalla campaign, as he appears as Loki in that game. In the upcoming game, we will learn about how he became an Assassin and his later story.
Last weekend's Ubisoft Forward brought us the official reveal of Assasin's Creed Mirage, and also a second version of the trailer where the developers comment on every detail in the video and reveal quite a bit of information about the protagonist and the game itself.
"In Assassin’s Creed Mirage, you are Basim, a cunning street thief with nightmarish visions, seeking answers and justice. After an act of deadly retribution, Basim flees Baghdad and joins an ancient organization – The Hidden Ones. As he learns their mysterious rituals and powerful tenets, he will hone his unique abilities, discover his true nature, and come to understand a new Creed – one that will change his fate in ways he never could have imagined."
Assassin's Creed Mirage is a return to the roots of the series with a significant focus on stealth and assassination mechanics. The series incorporated quite a few role-playing elements in the latest installments, and the developer wants to go back to the origins with gameplay more focused on action. Some may consider it a regression compared to Assasin's Creed Valhalla, but there are many that prefer an experience more focused on an exciting story accompanied by a good dose of action.
The game will launch next year on Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC. You will find the best price to buy Assassin's Creed Mirage cheap with our comparator ahead of release.
