Gearbox is keeping Borderlands 3 updated with new content since the game was launched last year. Through the release of seasonal events, several DLC and plenty of balance changes and additions, players always find themselves with a reason to continue playing the game, whether it is to try new things, obtain new legendary weapons or even try new builds in order to have more fun when fighting against the Children of the Vault. After the recent release of Guns, Love, and Tentacles: The Marriage of Wainwright & Hammerlock, Gearbox is adding a new event to the game today: Revenge of the Cartels.
In Revenge of the Cartels we will have to help Maurice by eliminating dangerous gang members all over the Borderlands 3 universe. After dealing with a few Cartel Operatives, a new zone called The Mansion will be accessible to us and then we will proceed to fight against Joey Ultraviolet, a nasty guy who is troubling our saurian friend. Of course, limited time rewards will be available to us, including new customization items and powerful weapons.
But if you think that Revenge of the Cartels is all that Gearbox has in store for us during the next few weeks you are wrong. The Loot the Universe mini-event kicks off today and it will grant players more chances of getting the loot they want during the next four weeks. Each week, enemies on a certain planet will have an increased chance of dropping their own Legendary weapon types, starting with Pandora and followed by Promethea, Eden-6, and Nekrotafeyo.
Revenge of the Cartels and Loot the Universe are available to all Borderlands 3 players for free, but there is another addition that's coming with today's update: the eagerly awaited Mayhem Mode 2.0. It's a revision of the Mayhem system that includes 25 new modifiers and allows you to modify its settings from the game menu instead of having to go back to Sanctuary III everytime.
