Overwatch celebrates its 4th anniversary with a special event

It's been already four years since Blizzard decided to launch its competitive first-person shooter and Overwatch has grown to earn a prominent place among the best games in the genre. Although it started with just a few characters to choose from and a couple of gameplay modes, Overwatch is now a fully-fledged game that features an expanded roster of heroes and villains to play with in a variety of gameplay modes including Assault, Control, Escort, Hybrid, Capture the Flag, Deathmatch, Elimination, and more. Also, the developers have kept the game fresh by releasing a good number of seasonal events.

Precisely, those seasonal events will return during the three weeks that the Overwatch Anniversary 2020 will last. From May 19th to June 9th all the seasonal brawls will be available in Overwatch. Also, there are quite a few new cosmetic items to be unlocked just by playing during the event, including player icons and sprays. You can unlock those by completing weekly challenges and winning a certain number of games each week will also give you a new epic skin. In the first week of Overwatch Anniversary 2020, you can unlock Carbon Fiber Sigma epic skin by winning nine games. Fleur de Lis Widowmaker and Masked Man McCree will be available in the second and third weeks respectively. As usual, there will be plenty of legendary skins and other unlockable available through loot boxes that you can buy from the shop in-game, and you will receive a legendary one for free just by logging into Overwatch during the event.

With the celebration of Overwatch Anniversary 2020 happening, we can't stop wondering about the development of Overwatch 2. The game was announced a while ago but Blizzard has been very quiet about it since then. We hope to receive some information about it soon and wonder if it will replace the original game. While that happens, you can have fun celebrating Overwatch's birthday. Remember that if you don't own the game yet you can find the best price to buy it in our comparator.
