Grounded: the first update will arrive at the end of the month

Launched in early access on July 28, Grounded broke sales records. Only 48 hours after the game was released on Steam and Xbox One, a million players already owned it. Admittedly, the fact that Grounded is available through Xbox Game Pass has largely contributed to inflating these numbers, but in the case of Valve's platform, where this boost isn't accountable, the game still climbed to the first place in sales the week of its release.

Such success is quite notable for an early access game and Obsidian Entertainment is to be congratulated. Grounded already offers a full and rich gaming experience although it does not yet have all of its content.

Precisely, the game director of Grounded Adam Brennecke spoke about it in an interview with Gamepur. He talks about future updates for the game, including the monthly updates that have been announced. The first of those will arrive at the end of this month. Adam Brennecke didn't give a lot of reveal on its exact content but he gave us some clues about what to expect in the weeks and months to come:

"We want to continue the storyline and add more to the mystery of what is going on throughout early access/Game Preview.[...] The goal is to have the whole yard brimming with life and things to see and do. We also want to add more systems in the game, which means more things to do in the water and elsewhere."

He also talks about some of the threats that will be added to Grounded. Bees, mosquitoes, and other flying insects are expected to join the game "in a future update." In particular, this will help balance the game, while maintaining a certain level of danger, not only on the ground but also in the air.

We can't wait to see what Grounded has in store for us in the future. The game already offers a very rich experience and will undoubtedly only get better over time.
