CD Projekt RED is quite determined to make Cyberpunk 2077 such a huge success that it will make the number of sales of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt look tiny in comparison. It seems that not even the release of the next generation of consoles is going to stand in their way, and they have announced that all those who own Cyberpunk 2077 on Xbox One will receive a free upgrade for the game when it's available on Xbox Series X. This announcement has been published as a response to a Tweet on Xbox account where some of the capabilities of Microsoft's new console were listed.
“Gamers should never be forced to purchase the same game twice or pay for upgrades. Owners of #Cyberpunk2077 for Xbox One will receive the Xbox Series X upgrade for free when available.”

CD Projekt Red is the first company to announce that it's going to take advantage of the Smart Delivery technology from Microsoft, which grants fans access to “four generations” of games across all of its consoles.
“This technology empowers you to buy a game once and know that — whether you are playing it on Xbox One or Xbox Series X — you are getting the right version of that game on whatever Xbox you’re playing on.”
The announcement also serves as a way of revealing that there will be a Cyberpunk 2077 version for Xbox Series X and it leaves the door open to a possible release of the game on PlayStation 5. The backwards compatibility of Sony's new console with PlayStation 4 games has already been confirmed but nothing has been said about specific games so far. CD Projekt RED statement may add some pressure to on that matter. Whatever platform you choose to play Cyberpunk 2077 on, you will find the best prices to buy the game on our comparator.
