Crysis Remastered gets delayed due to the reactions to its leaked video

A couple of days ago Microsoft Store did it again and leaked information about another game before the developers made an announcement about it. Crytek was supposed to reveal the first video showing Crysis Remasted footage yesterday but it seems that the leak and the reactions to it have caused a sudden change in the plans of the company. Instead of the video, Crytek has published a statement in the official twitter account of the game announcing that the negative feedback caused by the leaked video is more than enough reason to delay both the launch of the game and the official reveal of said video.

Not only the video has disappointed the fans of the series because it looks like a straight remaster of the original Crysis, but also the features shown and the graphics have failed to meet the expectations of those that have been waiting for a new Crysis for such a long time. Although the reaction from the developers kind of makes sense if they want their upcoming game to succeed, all of this matter feels like a mess and it's happening barely three weeks ahead of the launch date previously planned for the game, which was scheduled for July 23, 2020.

Although delaying the launch of the game a few weeks doesn't seem enough to grant their wish to those that are expecting to see a completely new Crysis, we hope that it is enough to polish some of the features of the game. Crysis Remastered should follow the steps of its predecessor and have us wondering if our GPU can run it as a way of measuring its capabilities, at least for the next ten years. Crysis Remastered will be available on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Windows PC, and Xbox One at launch. Nothing about a version for next-gen consoles has been said yet.
