Biomutant shows us 10 minutes of intense gameplay

It is been almost three years since Biomutant was first revealed at Gamescom 2017. Originally scheduled to be released in 2018, the first game developed by the Swedish studio Experiment 101 and published by THQ Nordic, attracted a lot of attention then. Biomutant is described as a "kung fu fable" staging mutants with the appearance of anthropomorphic animals in an open post-apocalyptic world, a cocktail that surprised more than one and left plenty of people wanting to know more.

But since Gamescom 2018, Biomutant developers have been rather discreet and we have not heard from them for months. Biomutant returned to the front of the stage yesterday during the Summer of Gaming event, with a new ten-minutes video of intense gameplay.

We can discover what Biomutant has to offer in terms of gameplay in the video. As the game is defined as an action-RPG we can logically have an overview of the fights, in which we will be able to use firearms and melee weapons, but also techniques from martial arts. We can also see that Biomutant will have plenty of boss fights with crazier creatures each other. The game also seems emphasize customization, in particular we can have a first glimpse of it regarding to weapons.

This gameplay video was also accompanied by an interview with Stefan Ljungqvist, creative director of the game, who reveals more details and clarifies what we see there. It must be said that the game looks rich and dense, which can be a bit confusing. In any case, it is a real eye-catcher, and the artistic direction of Biomutant, with its shimmering environments and the soundtrack, is really neat.

However, we still have no confirmed release date for Biomutant. We now know that development is progressing at a good pace and that the studio is fixing bugs, so we should have news about it in the months to come.
