Assassin's Creed Valhalla is coming in Holiday 2020

Assassin's Creed Valhalla is coming in Holiday 2020

Ubisoft showed yesterday the first Assassin's Creed Valahalla trailer and as spectacular and amazing as it is it's less surprising than the official announcement of its launch date. We were not wrong expecting that the new installment in the Assassin's Creed series would arrive late 2020 and the game is coming next holiday. It seems that the concerns with the coronavirus pandemic and the release of PlayStation 5 and Xbox One X are not reason enough to delay the game, and we couldn't be happier about it after watching the Cinematic World Premiere Trailer of Assassin's Creed Valhalla.

As it was revealed before, Assassin's Creed Valhalla will focus on the conflict between England and the tribes of Norsemen that invaded its coasts in the 9th century. You will play as Eivor, the leader of a clan that drives his people to the fertile lands of England looking to start a new life in the fertile and green lands of the island. After building an outpost, you will be in charge of forging the future of your people, and that means that everything from the political alliances of your clan to the defense of your territory will be in your hands.

This is the official statement about Assassin's Creed Valhalla:

Driven from Norway by endless wars and dwindling resources in ninth century AD, players will lead Eivor’s clan of Norsemen across the icy North Sea to the rich lands of England’s broken kingdoms. Players must carve out a new future for their clan, reliving the ruthless fighting style of Viking warriors with a revamped combat system that includes the ability to dual-wield weapons against a greater variety of enemies than ever before. To secure resources, players can lead raids to select locations using their longship to earn much-needed riches and supplies. As the Vikings begin to settle in their new home, they encounter resistance from the Saxons, including King Aelfred of Wessex, who denounces them as heathens and looks to be the sole ruler of a civilized England. Against all odds, Eivor must do what is necessary to keep Valhalla within reach.

The video shows some important novelties that will be present in the game and that all the fans of the series will promptly recognize. You will be able to dual wield weapons in Assassin's Creed Valhalla, a very nice addition for those that enjoyed the brutal combat of Assassin's Creed Odyssey. When it comes to gameplay, the most noticeable change that the game brings to the franchise is the introduction of the clan's settlement as a hub that will be at the same time your base of operations and a place that you will have to manage to make it thrive. That doesn´t exactly mean that the game will be more static or limited in exploration, but it will radically change the way you interact with the world around you.

Assassin's Creed Valhalla brings back the politics in the series too. As a leader, the decisions you make about your alliances will have an influence on the future of your clan. The story of the game revolves around you but it doesn't let you forget that you are responsible of the welfare of your people.

If you are as eager as us to know more about Assassin's Creed Valhalla you need to know that Ubisoft has announced that the first images of its gameplay will be shown next week

Although no specific date has been revealed for its release, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla will be available this Holiday on Xbox One, Playstation 4, Stadia and PC via Uplay and Epic Games Store.
