From the mind of Keiichriro Toyama, creator of Silent Hill and the Forbidden Siren series, comes another grotesque nightmare: Slitterhead. Set in a congested and claustrophobic city resembling Hong Kong, Slitterhead features horrific parasitic monsters that can change humans into abominable creatures with scales, spikes, tentacles, and teeth. Not even the police are able to stand up to them, getting cut down before they can even fire a shot.
According to Toyama: "The game doesn't fully enter the horror genre. It spans over multiple genres where horror is expressed. From there, I wanted to widen the player base who could access the game, including players who don't usually play horror games." He also said, “I wanted a game that could be enjoyed for its action, yet whose concept doesn't solely revolve around killing enemies. It conflicts the mind, making the players reluctant to enter certain fights."
With combat being a feature, Slitterhead features swords seemingly made of blood, able to cut through these parasitic monsters with ease. Stealth may also feature prominently, allowing players to avoid monsters they don't want to fight just yet. More details to come with new developments from Slitterhead and Toyama.
