Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance is a hack and slash action role-playing game originally released for PlayStation 2. It's set in the Forgotten Realms campaign world for Dungeons and Dragons, and it follows the adventures of a trio of heroes after they arrive at the legendary city that gives name to the game. Kromlech, the warrior, Vahn, the archer, and Adrianna, the sorceress, start their epic adventure fighting undead for the temple of Illmater, but they will eventually join the Harpers and eventually discover a conspiracy involving a dark alliance between Xantam's guild, the drow, and Sess'sth's tribes. Each of those factions is a huge threat by itself, but together they will prove to be an epic challenge for our heroes.
You can choose any of the three heroes to play, and each of them uses different weapons and powers. As you progress through the story, you will fight against countless enemies and gain experience that will allow you to level up and unlock more abilities, spells, and combat traits. The gameplay is linear, but there are side quests available that you can complete for additional experience and rewards.
Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance is played in an isometric view that reminisces of other RPGs created by Black Isle. It features cooperative gameplay for up to two players so that you can enjoy this epic adventure with a friend. Both players share the screen, and each other's position limits their movement.
Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance has received a 4k port for modern consoles and PC that maintains all the original game's features.
