Developed and published by FuturLab, this PSVR exclusive title is a tactical strategy game that pits players against each other to gather coins and destroy enemies using their mechs as proxies. The final goal is simply to reach the score limit of three coins, be it through collecting them from specific places on the board or making a mech explode into pieces.
Mini-Mech Mayhem begins with customizing a little mech robot with the option to change individual parts and recolor it as you see fit. Working on an eight-by-eight grid of tiles, your mech must outlast three others and claim three coins. Players have to plan out three turns in advance, and this can be done with a DualShock 4. These turns can be used moving or firing your weapon. There are four movement directions but eight directions to fire in, leading to all sorts of chaotic crossfire. Destroying an arm can cause an enemy's shooting commands to be skewed anticlockwise while blowing up their legs can do the same for movement. Shooting the head can even push an enemy back a spot, perhaps destroying them in a trap and gifting you the round.
Mini-Mech Mayhem boasts online multiplayer functionality for up to four players, as well as single-player challenges against the AI.
